what happened to iron sky?
The company that owned the Iron Sky IP, Iron Sky Universe, entered bankruptcy proceedings in 2021. The rights were later purchased by a party unrelated to the original filmmakers, effectively bringing the saga to an end. Although the Iron Sky storyline is no longer continuing, the core filmmakers — Timo Vuorensola, Tero Kaukomaa, and Samuli Torssonen — are expanding their trademark blend of dark comedy, conspiracy lore, and political satire in an all-new universe: the Deep Red trilogy! Here's the first announcement video of the upcoming trilogy.
i crowdfunded iron sky. what happened to my contribution?
Due to the bankruptcy of Iron Sky Universe, perks such as Blu-rays and DVDs for Iron Sky: The Coming Race were never produced — and can no longer be delivered, because the IP now belongs to a different company.
To address this, we launched the Iron Sky War Reparations Campaign. As a replacement reward, eligible supporters can claim 50 Deep Red Tokens — blockchain-powered tokens that provide revenue participation in the Deep Red IP.
We are deeply grateful for your role in making Iron Sky possible. Your support built something extraordinary, and we want to honour that legacy as we move forward.
